The Vivio RX-SS, a front-wheel-drive hatchback sold in Japan in 1997 and 1998 with the SportShift ECVT automatic. It uses the DOHC supercharged 0.66-litre EN07X engine at 64 PS, so it offers the sporty RX-R power without a clutch pedal. It is a late addition to the Type E line-up.

STORY

The Vivio was a kei car sold from 1992 to 1998, replacing the Rex with a rounded body and available supercharged engine plus optional four-wheel drive. Rally prepared Vivios famously entered the 1993 Safari Rally, and a limited targa-top version was offered in 1993 for Subaru's 40th anniversary.
