The Impreza WRX STI Version I, the first STI, a Japanese-market sedan introduced in January 1994 and built until 1995. Its turbocharged 2.0-litre EJ20G flat-four makes 250 PS and drives all four wheels through a five-speed manual. Production was very limited, and the more powerful 275 PS Version II followed in August 1995.

STORY

The WRX began as the performance turbocharged version of the Impreza in 1992, powered by a turbo boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive that made it well known in rallying and among enthusiasts. Subaru later spun the WRX off as its own model line, with the STI variant serving as the high-performance flagship.
