Impreza Turbo 2000 (GT)

The Impreza Turbo 2000 (GT) was the European-market turbo sedan of the late GC8 Impreza, sold from 1998 to 2000. Its 2.0-litre EJ20G turbocharged boxer made 211 PS and drove all four wheels through a manual gearbox. It is the road-going turbo model for Europe, below the Japanese STI cars, and carries the multi-reflector headlamps of the September 1998 facelift.

STORY

The WRX began as the performance turbocharged version of the Impreza in 1992, powered by a turbo boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive that made it well known in rallying and among enthusiasts. Subaru later spun the WRX off as its own model line, with the STI variant serving as the high-performance flagship.
