The Impreza WRX STI (JDM) is the Japanese GDB sedan from the launch of the 'bugeye' generation, built from 2000 to 2002. It used the 2.0-litre EJ207 turbocharged boxer at 280 PS, the gentlemen's agreement ceiling, with a manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. The STI arrived two months after the standard WRX and was the top performance model of the line.

STORY

The WRX began as the performance turbocharged version of the Impreza in 1992, powered by a turbo boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive that made it well known in rallying and among enthusiasts. Subaru later spun the WRX off as its own model line, with the STI variant serving as the high-performance flagship.
