The Impreza WRX STI (JDM) with the 'blobeye' teardrop headlamps is the Japanese GDB sedan built from 2002 to 2005. It carries the 2.0-litre EJ207 turbocharged boxer at 280 PS, the gentlemen's agreement limit, with a manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. It is the regular production STI, with the 320 PS S-series cars sold as limited specials beside it.

STORY

The WRX began as the performance turbocharged version of the Impreza in 1992, powered by a turbo boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive that made it well known in rallying and among enthusiasts. Subaru later spun the WRX off as its own model line, with the STI variant serving as the high-performance flagship.
