Its 2.5-litre EJ255 turbocharged boxer is rated at 224 hp, with a five-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. It is the plain WRX below the STI in the launch phase of the GR/GV generation.

STORY

The WRX began as the performance turbocharged version of the Impreza in 1992, powered by a turbo boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive that made it well known in rallying and among enthusiasts. Subaru later spun the WRX off as its own model line, with the STI variant serving as the high-performance flagship.
