The Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary is a limited STI edition of 2008 in a run of 300 cars for Japan, built on the five-door WRX STI to mark 20 years of Subaru Tecnica International. The 2.0-litre EJ20 turbo boxer makes 308 PS and 422 Nm with a six-speed manual and all-wheel drive. STI added tuned dampers and springs, pillowball rear links, flexible bars, 18-inch wheels, a front under-spoiler, a matte black roof spoiler and Recaro seats with cherry red stitching. Announced on 23 October 2008 at 4,126,500 yen including tax.

STORY

The WRX began as the performance turbocharged version of the Impreza in 1992, powered by a turbo boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive that made it well known in rallying and among enthusiasts. Subaru later spun the WRX off as its own model line, with the STI variant serving as the high-performance flagship.
