STORY

The Sunbeam Rapier was a sporting Rootes Group coupe built in two very different eras. The original 'Audax' Rapier (1955-1967) was a stylish pillarless hardtop with rally success, while the second-generation fastback Rapier (1967-1976) was a larger American-influenced coupe based on the Arrow platform, topped by the twin-carburettor H120. Both offered a sportier alternative within the Hillman/Sunbeam range.
