The Sunbeam Tiger was a V8-engined derivative of the four-cylinder Alpine roadster, produced from 1964 to 1967. Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles fitted a small-block Ford V8 into the Alpine's body, giving the modest British sports car far more performance, in a formula like the AC Cobra's. Production ended after Chrysler took control of Rootes and could no longer use the Ford engine.
