STORY
The Grand Vitara XL-7 arrived around 2001 as a seven-seat version of the Grand Vitara with a longer wheelbase. It gave Suzuki a compact three-row SUV with V6 power and available four-wheel drive. It aimed at families who wanted extra seating and light off-road ability, and it sold mainly in North America and other export markets. It was later succeeded by the larger second-generation XL7, which was built on a car-based platform.
