STORY
The Sidekick arrived for the 1989 model year as Suzuki's larger, more road-friendly compact SUV, sold in North America and closely related to the Vitara and the Geo and Chevrolet Tracker. It came as a two-door soft-top or hard-top and a four-door wagon, with 1.6-litre engines and part-time four-wheel drive on a ladder frame. It filled the gap between the tiny Samurai and later crossovers before the Vitara name replaced it.
