STORY
Tata Motors launched the Indica in 1998 as its first passenger hatchback, after earlier passenger models that were wagons and SUVs. Early buyers complained about performance and fuel economy, and Tata re-engineered the car as the Indica V2 in 2001. The second generation, the Indica Vista, followed in 2008 and was designed with Europe in mind as well.
