STORY

The Tatra 77 was launched in 1934 as a streamlined car with an air-cooled V8 engine mounted at the rear. It came from the team of Hans Ledwinka, the 1933 V570 prototype preceded it, and its body used the aerodynamic work of Paul Jaray. It is regarded as one of the first production cars with a truly aerodynamic body. The engine displaced just under 3.0 litres and made about 60 hp. The 77A that followed had a 3.4-litre engine with 75 hp. Fewer than 300 cars were built in total.
