The Tatra 600 Tatraplan was a saloon with a rear-mounted, air-cooled flat-four engine of 1,952 cc and about 50 hp. Two prototypes were built in 1946 and 1947, and series production began in 1948. In 1951 a state decision left Tatra to concentrate on trucks and moved the Tatraplan to the Škoda plant in Mladá Boleslav, where about 2,100 cars were built. About 6,300 were built in total, and the model was discontinued in 1952.
