MF10 · 1967–1970RWDLimited · 233

The 2000GT MF10 is a two-seat coupe built from 1967 to 1970, with a 2.0-liter 3M DOHC inline-six making 150 PS through a 5-speed manual to the rear wheels. Toyota did not assemble it in its own plant. Yamaha built the cars under contract at its factory in Iwata, and only 233 of the MF10 were made, with Yamaha's instrument workshops supplying the wood dashboard veneer.

STORY

The Toyota 2000GT was first shown at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show, and Yamaha built it under contract from 1967 to 1970. Its 1,988 cc straight-six, derived from the Crown unit and reworked by Yamaha with a double overhead camshaft head, is rated at 150 PS (110 kW) at 6,600 rpm by Toyota. Toyota's own museum records 337 cars sold, including the early model, while other sources give 351. Two one-off open versions were built for a 1967 James Bond film, but a convertible was never offered to buyers.
