STORY

The 4Runner launched in 1984 as a body-on-frame SUV derived from the Hilux pickup, initially a truck with a removable fibreglass rear top. Over successive generations it grew into a dedicated, durable mid-size SUV known for off-road capability and longevity. It remains one of Toyota's most enduring rugged nameplates.
