STORY

The AE86 is the rear-wheel-drive variant of the fifth-generation Corolla, built 1983-1987 and offered as the Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno. Its lightweight balance and rev-happy 4A-GE engine made it a motorsport and drifting icon, immortalised by touge culture and Initial D. It remains a cult classic and the spiritual ancestor of the modern 86.
