STORY
Allion arrived on 25 December 2001 as the Toyota Store's compact saloon and the successor to the Carina, launched the same day as the Toyopet Store's Premio on the same platform; Toyota read the name as All-in-One. The T240 carried three VVT-i fours, a 2.0-litre D-4 direct injection unit at 152 PS with a CVT, a 1.8 at 132 PS and a 1.5 at 109 PS, with front drive or V-Flex four-wheel drive and assembly at Tsutsumi. The T260 followed on 4 June 2007, moved the whole range to CVTs, kept four-wheel drive on the 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE and gained the Valvematic 2.0-litre 3ZR-FAE in January 2008; revisions came in April 2010 and June 2016. Toyota announced the end of both saloons on 1 December 2020 and production closed in March 2021, leaving the E210 Corolla to cover the slot. The badge did not stay idle: FAW Toyota put Allion on a TNGA sedan in China in 2021.
