STORY
The Brevis was spun off the Progres on 4 June 2001 as a mid-size luxury saloon pitched at a somewhat younger buyer, and it went to Toyota Store, with Osaka Toyopet covering the Osaka area, while the Progres stayed with Toyopet Store. A 4,550 mm body held longitudinal straight sixes, the 2,997 cc 2JZ-FSE at 162 kW (220 PS) for rear-wheel drive only and the 2,491 cc 1JZ-FSE at 147 kW (200 PS), the latter also with i-Four full-time four-wheel drive. Rear-drive cars used the 5 Super ECT with Navi AI-Shift, which shifted on map data from the navigation system. A G-Book-compatible navigation system became standard in December 2005, and Motomachi built the car until June 2007.
