STORY

Toyota showed the bZ3X as a near-production car at the Beijing show in April 2024, and GAC Toyota put it on sale in China on 6 March 2025 from 109,800 yuan, which Toyota called its first battery electric SUV in the 100,000 yuan class. The EG10 car was led by Toyota's engineering team in China, is assembled in Guangzhou on GAC's AEP 3.0 electric architecture, and Toyota says 65 percent of its parts come from Chinese suppliers against 1 percent imported. A single front motor gives 150 or 165 kW, with lithium iron phosphate packs good for CLTC ranges of 430, 520 and 610 km at launch, and two trims carry a roof lidar feeding Momenta 5.0 on an Nvidia Orin X chip, a first for a joint venture brand in China. Orders passed 10,000 in the first hour, and in March 2026 GAC Toyota reported more than 80,000 deliveries over the first year on sale.
