STORY

FAW Toyota launched the bZ5 in China on 10 June 2025, a coupe-roofed mid-size electric SUV sold only on that market and worked up with BYD Toyota EV Technology, the Toyota and BYD joint venture that had already done the bZ3 sedan. The shape was previewed by the bZ3C concept at the Beijing show in April 2024. The e-TNGA car takes BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate packs of 65.28 or 73.98 kWh and a FinDreams front motor rated 200 kW and 330 Nm, for CLTC ranges of 550 and 630 km. The first car rolled off FAW Toyota's new-energy plant in Tianjin on 16 May 2025, pre-sales had opened in April, and four trims went on sale from 129,800 yuan.
