Toyota introduced the Corolla Spacio in Japan in January 1997 as a tall, practical MPV based on the Corolla. The first generation, coded E110, used 1.6-litre 4A-FE and 1.8-litre 7A-FE petrol fours, with four-wheel drive on the 1.8. The E120 followed in May 2001 with 1.5-litre 1NZ-FE and 1.8-litre 1ZZ-FE engines and a 5+2 seating layout, again with four-wheel drive only on the 1.8. Production ended in 2007, and the Corolla Rumion and Passo Sette took over its role.
The Corolla Spacio is a tall five-door MPV that Toyota sold in Japan from 1997 to 2007, in two generations. It had front-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive offered on the 1.8-litre cars. The second generation could seat seven with a folding rear bench.
