Crown Estate is the name Toyota used for the wagon body of the Crown in Japan. The S170 Estate went on sale in 1999 with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and the 2.5 litre 1JZ-GE six, while the Athlete version used the turbocharged 1JZ-GTE. From 2001 the direct-injection D-4 engines, a 2.5 litre 1JZ-FSE and a 3.0 litre 2JZ-FSE, joined a 2.0 litre 1G-FE, and production continued until 2007. The wagon was not carried into the next Crown generation. Toyota revealed the sixteenth-generation Crown on 15 July 2022 as a family of four bodies, Crossover, Sport, Sedan and Estate. The Estate went on sale in Japan on 13 March 2025 as a 2.5 litre hybrid Z and a plug-in hybrid RS, both with E-Four all-wheel drive. In North America the same wagon-SUV is sold as the Crown Signia.
