STORY

Toyota showed the FJ Cruiser as a concept at the Detroit show in January 2003 and the production version at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2005. Hino Motors built it at Hamura, Tokyo, with the 4.0-litre 1GR-FE V6. Toyota announced a Japanese version on 25 November 2010 and began selling it on 4 December 2010, with part-time four-wheel drive and a five-speed automatic, from 3,140,000 yen with tax. Japanese sales ended in January 2018, and the Middle East Final Edition of 1,000 units closed the run in December 2022.
