STORY

The Hiace was introduced in October 1967 as a cab-over commercial vehicle, first as a pickup, with a 1.3-litre engine taken from the Corona. Toyota presented the second generation in 1977, the fourth in 1989, and, by Toyota's own count, the fifth in 2004, when the H200 had its world premiere in summer. The sixth generation arrived in 2019 as the first Hiace with a semi-bonnet layout, the engine no longer above the front axle, revealed in Manila in February 2019. The catalog lists H10 to H300 under one name, covering pickups, vans and passenger models.
