This rear-wheel-drive Hilux used the 2.8 litre 1GD-FTV turbodiesel in its early tune, with an automatic gearbox. It was sold internationally from 2015 to 2020. The engine's output was raised with the 2020 facelift, and later versions of the 1GD reached higher torque figures. It is a four-cylinder diesel pickup.

STORY

The Hilux went on sale in Japan on 21 March 1968 as the RN10. Later generations were introduced in September 1978, September 1988 and September 1997, and the seventh, the Hilux Vigo, began production and launch in Thailand in August 2004. The eighth generation had its world premiere in Thailand in May 2015. Toyota unveiled the ninth generation in November 2025, a little over ten years later, with a dual-motor battery-electric version and a mild-hybrid 2.8-litre diesel among its powertrains.
