The GUN125 Hilux Z was sold in Japan from 2017 to 2026 as a pickup. It uses the 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel (2GD-FTV), rated at 150 PS and 400 Nm, with four-wheel drive and an automatic. It belongs to the AN120 generation, the eighth-generation Hilux. Since 2004 the Hilux has been a mid-size pickup sharing its ladder-frame platform with the Fortuner SUV.

STORY

The Hilux went on sale in Japan on 21 March 1968 as the RN10. Later generations were introduced in September 1978, September 1988 and September 1997, and the seventh, the Hilux Vigo, began production and launch in Thailand in August 2004. The eighth generation had its world premiere in Thailand in May 2015. Toyota unveiled the ninth generation in November 2025, a little over ten years later, with a dual-motor battery-electric version and a mild-hybrid 2.8-litre diesel among its powertrains.
