The 2.5 litre 2KD-FTV D-4D with the VN Turbo, a variable-nozzle turbocharger, powers this four-wheel-drive Hilux with a manual gearbox, sold internationally from 2005 to 2015. The VN Turbo version was available alongside the intercooled and non-intercooled 2.5 litre engines. A manual gearbox made it a straightforward off-road diesel.

STORY

The Hilux went on sale in Japan on 21 March 1968 as the RN10. Later generations were introduced in September 1978, September 1988 and September 1997, and the seventh, the Hilux Vigo, began production and launch in Thailand in August 2004. The eighth generation had its world premiere in Thailand in May 2015. Toyota unveiled the ninth generation in November 2025, a little over ten years later, with a dual-motor battery-electric version and a mild-hybrid 2.8-litre diesel among its powertrains.
