N140 PreRunner 2.7 3RZ-FE

The Hilux N140 PreRunner 2.7 3RZ-FE was introduced with the 2001 facelift of the N140 generation. It is a rear-wheel-drive pickup styled like the four-wheel-drive truck, with the 2.7 litre 3RZ-FE petrol engine and an automatic gearbox. It was sold from 2001 to 2006.

STORY

The Hilux went on sale in Japan on 21 March 1968 as the RN10. Later generations were introduced in September 1978, September 1988 and September 1997, and the seventh, the Hilux Vigo, began production and launch in Thailand in August 2004. The eighth generation had its world premiere in Thailand in May 2015. Toyota unveiled the ninth generation in November 2025, a little over ten years later, with a dual-motor battery-electric version and a mild-hybrid 2.8-litre diesel among its powertrains.
