This is the V6 Hilux for the United States, with the 3.0 litre 3VZ-E engine rated at 150 hp, four-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox. It was sold for the 1987 and 1988 model years, under the N60 designation. The four-cylinder trucks of the same generation were far less powerful.

STORY

The Hilux went on sale in Japan on 21 March 1968 as the RN10. Later generations were introduced in September 1978, September 1988 and September 1997, and the seventh, the Hilux Vigo, began production and launch in Thailand in August 2004. The eighth generation had its world premiere in Thailand in May 2015. Toyota unveiled the ninth generation in November 2025, a little over ten years later, with a dual-motor battery-electric version and a mild-hybrid 2.8-litre diesel among its powertrains.
