N80 2.4 2L-II Diesel Double Cab

N80 · 1989–1997RWD

Double cab bodies were part of the N80 Hilux range, and this international version paired one with the 2.4 litre 2L-II diesel. Rear-wheel drive and a manual gearbox were fitted, and production ran from 1989 to 1997. The four-door cab gave it room for passengers, which single cab work trucks of the era lacked.

STORY

The Hilux went on sale in Japan on 21 March 1968 as the RN10. Later generations were introduced in September 1978, September 1988 and September 1997, and the seventh, the Hilux Vigo, began production and launch in Thailand in August 2004. The eighth generation had its world premiere in Thailand in May 2015. Toyota unveiled the ninth generation in November 2025, a little over ten years later, with a dual-motor battery-electric version and a mild-hybrid 2.8-litre diesel among its powertrains.
