The 2.4 litre 2GD-FTV diesel was the main Innova Crysta engine in India, and it produced 343 Nm with the manual gearbox, against 360 Nm with the automatic. This rear-wheel-drive MPV has been sold since 2015. After January 2023, the 2.4 litre diesel with a manual became the only Indian Crysta.

STORY

Toyota launched the Innova in 2004 as the successor to the Kijang wagon, and in Indonesia it is sold as the Kijang Innova. The first generation (AN40) was a rear-drive ladder-frame wagon built on the IMV platform shared with the Hilux and Fortuner, with 2.0-litre and 2.7-litre petrol engines and a 2.5-litre turbo diesel. The second generation (AN140) was introduced in Indonesia in November 2015, with a 2.4-litre diesel among its engines, and reached India in May 2016 as the Innova Crysta. In November 2022 the name moved to a hybrid model, the Innova HyCross in India.
