STORY

Toyota gave the Land Cruiser FJ its world premiere on 20 October 2025, ahead of the Japan Mobility Show that opened on 30 October 2025, and placed it as the entry point of a series that already held the 300, 250 and 70. The FJ sits on the ladder-frame IMV architecture, 4,575 mm long on a 2,580 mm wheelbase, 270 mm shorter than the 250 Series and down to a 5.5 m turning radius. Drive comes from the 2.7-litre 2TR-FE four, rated 120 kW (163 PS) and 246 N·m, through a six-speed automatic and part-time four-wheel drive. Japanese sales opened on 14 May 2026 in a single VX grade at 4,500,100 yen, against a target of 1,300 units a month. Assembly runs at Toyota Motor Thailand's Ban Pho plant, and Toyota intends it for Asian, African, Middle Eastern and Latin American markets, with no plans for North America or Europe.
