STORY

Levin is a badge Toyota uses inside the Corolla series in China, where it showed the E170 car at the Beijing motor show on 20 April 2014 as the GAC Toyota sedan standing next to the Corolla that FAW Toyota builds; in Japan the word had only ever been a suffix on the Corolla Levin, which ended in July 2000. At that Beijing press conference Toyota said hybrid versions would follow from 2015 with major hybrid components made in China, which it described as the first time it would build hybrids using parts produced outside Japan. The E210 car was shown at Guangzhou on 16 November 2018 as part of the twelfth Corolla generation on the GA-C platform, with Chinese sales planned for after the middle of 2019, the Levin cast as the sporty variant and the Corolla as the prestige one.
