STORY

The Mark II was a rear-wheel-drive mid-size sedan (and wagon) sold in Japan from 1968, initially as a Corona derivative before becoming its own upmarket line. It grew into a mainstay of Japan's executive-car and tuning scenes, prized for its inline-six engines and, later, the turbocharged 1JZ. The nameplate was retired in 2004 and effectively succeeded by the Mark X.
