Blit Turbo Wagon (1JZ-GTE)

X110 · 2002–2006RWD

The Blit Turbo Wagon put the 1JZ-GTE twin-cam turbo six into a rear-drive wagon sold in Japan from 2002 to 2006. An automatic gearbox was fitted. Toyota dropped the engine in May 2006 because of the 2005 Japanese emission rules, so the turbo version missed the wagon's final year.

STORY

Toyota introduced the Corona Mark II in September 1968 as a model between the Corona and the Crown. The X90 generation of 1992 brought the Tourer V, whose twin-turbo 2.5-litre 1JZ-GTE became the car's best-known engine, and the next X100 followed in 1996. The ninth and last generation, the X110, appeared in 2000. The sedan went out of production in 2004, when the Mark X replaced it in Japan, while a wagon version, the Mark II Blit, was built until 2007.
