STORY
Toyota released the Mark X ZiO in Japan on 26 September 2007. It was based on the FSC concept car shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and replaced the Mark II Blit wagon. It was sold only in Japan, through Toyopet Store dealerships alongside the Mark X sedan. The car used the Toyota New MC platform shared with the Auris, RAV4, Avensis and Prius, with front-wheel drive. Its three-mode cabin seated four to seven, under a concept Toyota called 4+Free. Engines were a 2.4-litre 2AZ-FE four with a CVT, which was the only one offered with four-wheel drive, and a 3.5-litre 2GR-FE V6 with a six-speed automatic. A minor facelift came on 14 February 2011, changing the grille, wheels and rear molding. Production ended in late 2013, with about 51,000 built through 2012. No direct successor is named.
