STORY

The MR2 was Toyota's affordable mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports car, launched in 1984 as Japan's first mass-produced mid-engined car. Across three generations it offered nimble handling and, in the SW20, available turbocharged performance, before the lightweight open-top ZZW30 Spyder. Production ended in 2007, leaving it a cult favorite among enthusiasts.
