STORY
Toyota released the Nadia on 3 August 1998 and sold it only through Corolla Store, aiming it between a sedan and a minivan. It was a first-generation Ipsum with the third row deleted and the rear screen raked forward, keeping the 2,735 mm wheelbase, which left the five remaining seats more rear legroom than the Ipsum or the Gaia had; front seats swivelled 180 degrees and the backrests folded flat, and walkthrough was possible front to rear. Both engines were 2.0-litre fours: the port-injected 3S-FE at 135 PS on front or four-wheel drive, and the D-4 direct-injection 3S-FSE at 145 PS on front drive only, through four-speed automatics. An SUV-styled type SU joined in June 1999, front-drive cars took the newer 1AZ-FSE at the facelift of April 2001 and four-wheel-drive cars in July 2002, and Toyota Auto Body's Fujimatsu plant stopped building the Nadia in October 2003.
