The LA310A is the four-wheel-drive Pixis Epoch, a kei hatchback sold in Japan from 2012 to 2017. It is the Toyota-badged twin of the Daihatsu Mira e:S and uses a 0.66-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with an automatic gearbox. It was a low-cost city car, and all-wheel drive made it the pick for snowy regions.

STORY

The Pixis Epoch is the Daihatsu Mira e:S, developed and built by Daihatsu, and it reached Toyota showrooms on 10 May 2012 as the third car to come out of the minivehicle OEM agreement the two companies signed in September 2010. Toyota numbered the first cars LA300A and LA310A, with the 658 cc three-cylinder KF at 38 kW (52 PS), a body held to 1,500 mm tall so it would fit a multi-storey car park, 30.0 km/L on the JC08 cycle for two-wheel drive, an eco-IDLE system that shut the engine down below roughly 7 km/h, and an entry price of 795,000 yen. Daihatsu Motor Kyushu assembled it, and 210 dealer companies handled sales: Toyota Corolla Store and Netz, plus Toyota and Toyopet outlets in regions with heavy minivehicle demand. A full change on 12 May 2017 brought the LA350A and LA360A with Smart Assist III, and the nameplate is still on sale.
