STORY
Toyota sold the Pixis Mega from 2 July 2015, but Daihatsu designed and built it: the car was the Daihatsu Wake, launched on 10 November 2014, and the two firms' press material quotes the same figures, a 1,387 mm eye line, 1,455 mm of interior height and 1,835 mm overall. Toyota described it as the fourth minivehicle to come from the OEM agreement struck with Daihatsu in September 2010. The point of the tall body was a minivan view out and space for four adults, with a door aperture 1,700 mm high, an under-floor luggage well of about 90 litres on two-wheel-drive cars and 16 on four-wheel drive, an under-mirror added to the passenger door mirror and a rear under-mirror inside the tailgate; suspension and body structure were reworked so that the height did not wreck stability. Sales went through 208 dealer companies, and the LA700A and LA710A cars were withdrawn in August 2022.
