STORY
Toyota's first minivehicle van arrived on 1 December 2011 alongside the Pixis Truck, and once again Daihatsu had done the work: the Pixis Van was a rebadged Hijet Cargo, built by Daihatsu Motor Kyushu and handed over as the second batch under the September 2010 OEM agreement. Emblems apart, the two were the same vehicle. Toyota called the load bay class-topping, reached through sliding doors measuring 770 by 1,190 mm and a tailgate of 1,335 by 1,145 mm, with the load floor only 635 mm off the ground. The 658 cc KF three-cylinder came with variable valve timing at 37 kW (50 PS) or an intercooled turbo at 47 kW (64 PS), matched to a three or four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual, the two-wheel-drive manual van managing 17.0 km/L on the 10-15 cycle. Sales covered 211 dealer companies, and the S321M and S331M cars gave way to the S700 series in December 2021.
