STORY
The Ractis took over from the Fun Cargo on 3 October 2005, a five-seat tall hatch for Japan sold through Toyopet Store, Osaka Toyota in the Osaka area, and Toyota Corolla Store. The NCP100 and SCP100 cars stood 1,640 mm tall, 40 mm lower than the Fun Cargo, ran 1.3-litre 2SZ-FE or 1.5-litre 1NZ-FE engines, four-wheel drive only with the 1.5, and replaced the Fun Cargo's retractable bench with dive-in rear seats; a seven-step paddle shift Active CVT and a panorama roof were on the list. Takaoka built the car to December 2009 and Kanto Auto Works from January 2010. The second body, NCP120 and NSP120, came on 22 November 2010 at 3,995 mm long and 1,585 mm tall, with a wider cabin and split tilt-down rear seats, and went to Europe as the Verso-S. Its facelift of 12 May 2014 brought an Atkinson-cycle 1.3, good for 21.8 km/L on JC08 with the idling stop system. No third Ractis followed.
