STORY
Daihatsu handled development and production of the Rush and supplied it to Toyota as an OEM model, as the joint release of 17 January 2006 sets out, selling its own version as the Be-go; Toyopet Store took the Rush. It replaced the Cami, a rebadged Terios sold from May 1999 to December 2005, and the J200 was a size up, 210 mm longer, 140 mm wider and 160 mm longer in the wheelbase, with a ladder frame built into a monocoque, a longitudinal 1.5-litre 3SZ-VE, rear drive or full-time four-wheel drive with a mechanical centre lock. Daihatsu Auto Body assembled it, from April 2006 as Daihatsu Motor Kyushu's Oita plant, and the facelift of 13 November 2008 lifted the two-wheel-drive automatic to 15.4 km/L. The second Rush was Indonesian: Astra Daihatsu Motor launched it as the Terios on 23 November 2017, a seven-seat rear-drive car with the 2NR-VE engine, and Japan never took it.
