The Sprinter Carib arrived in 1982 as the AL25 wagon, with a 1.5-litre engine, part-time four-wheel drive and a manual gearbox; a three-speed automatic joined in October 1983. In 1988 the AE95 replaced it, now with a 1.6-litre 4A-series engine and full-time 4WD with a centre-differential lock. Toyota sold that car abroad as the Corolla 4WD wagon, the Corolla All-Trac in North America and the Corolla Tercel 4WD in parts of Europe. The third generation, the AE110 of 1995, used the Corolla E110 body and offered 4A-FE and 4A-GE 1.6-litre engines as well as a 1.8-litre 7A-FE. A six-speed manual came in 1997 and a front-drive option for the 1.6 in 1996. Sales ended in 2002.
A four-wheel-drive wagon sold in Japan from 1982 to 2002. The first generation was built from Tercel parts and exported as the Tercel 4WD wagon; later generations used the Corolla and Sprinter wagon bodies and were exported as the Corolla All-Trac and Corolla wagon.
