TF103 (2003)

TF103 season · 2003–2003RWD

Second-generation Toyota F1 car, driven in 2003 by Olivier Panis and reigning CART champion Cristiano da Matta. Powered by the improved 3.0-litre RVX-03 V10, it showed pace at times but was hampered by reliability. Toyota scored 16 points and finished 8th in the Constructors' Championship, still without a podium.

STORY

Toyota contested Formula 1 as a full works constructor from 2002 to 2009, running the TF10x series of cars out of its Cologne (TMG) facility. Despite one of the largest budgets on the grid, the team never won a Grand Prix, scoring its best results as runner-up finishes. Toyota withdrew from the sport at the end of the 2009 season.
