TF109 (2009)

TF109 season · 2009–2009RWD

Toyota's final F1 car, exploiting the 2009 aero rules and a double-deck diffuser to take three podiums in the first four races - including Trulli's pole and third at Bahrain. Glock and Trulli each finished second (Singapore and Japan). It was the team's last season before Toyota's withdrawal; 59.5 points earned 5th in the Constructors' Championship, still without a win in 139 starts.

STORY

Toyota contested Formula 1 as a full works constructor from 2002 to 2009, running the TF10x series of cars out of its Cologne (TMG) facility. Despite one of the largest budgets on the grid, the team never won a Grand Prix, scoring its best results as runner-up finishes. Toyota withdrew from the sport at the end of the 2009 season.
