STORY
Toyota put the Verossa on sale on 6 July 2001 as the single replacement for both the Chaser and the Cresta, a four-door sedan built on the rear-drive platform laid down for the second-generation Aristo and the Crown of 1999, and sold through the Toyota Vista chain, with Okinawa Toyota covering Okinawa. Three inline sixes were listed: the 1JZ-GTE turbo at 280 PS, the direct-injection 1JZ-FSE at 200 PS and the 1G-FE at 160 PS, rear drive as standard with full-time four-wheel drive on part of the range. Modellista added the Speciale in January 2002, an aero-bodied version with engine and suspension tuning. Kanto Auto Works assembled the car at its Iwate plant, and production stopped in April 2004 when Toyota folded the Vista chain into Netz, leaving the X110 Verossa a single short-lived generation with no successor.
