STORY
Toyota launched the Voxy on 16 November 2001 as the wagon-only successor to the Liteace Noah and Townace Noah, and paired it with the Noah, a sister car sold through Netz dealers while the Noah went to Toyota Corolla Store. The R60 used a new front-drive platform inside the 5-number size limits, seated up to eight in three rows, had sliding doors on both sides and ran the 2.0-litre 1AZ-FSE D-4 at 152 PS with a column-shift four-speed automatic, replaced by Super CVT-i in August 2004. The R70 of June 2007 brought the Valvematic 3ZR-FAE at 158 PS on the ZS grade, with 143 PS from a 3ZR-FE elsewhere. The R80 of January 2014 added a 1.8-litre THS II hybrid and kept most grades inside the 5-number width of 1,695 mm, the aero ZS standing wider at 1,730 mm, and the R90 followed in January 2022. Toyota Auto Body's Fujimatsu plant built the first two generations.
