STORY

Toyota put the Wish on sale in Japan on 20 January 2003 against the Honda Stream of October 2000: a three-row minivan kept inside the 5-number size limits and only 1,590 mm tall, with car-style hinged rear doors and six or seven seats whose second and third rows folded flat. The ZNE10 started with the 1.8-litre 1ZZ-FE at 132 PS on front drive and 125 PS with active torque control four-wheel drive, and a 2.0-litre 1AZ-FSE D-4 of 155 PS joined in April 2003; Netz and Toyota Vista Store shared the car and Tsutsumi built it. The ZGE20 of 2 April 2009 moved to Valvematic engines, a 1.8-litre 2ZR-FAE at 144 PS and a 2.0-litre 3ZR-FAE at 158 PS, with a seven-speed Super CVT-i; Toyota kept describing the car as 5-number sized, though the 2.0Z grade stood 1,745 mm wide. Production ran at Tahara until October 2017.
